Jim graduated from Purdue University Calumet in 1993 with a BS in Restaurant, Hotel & Institutional Management. Jim successfully managed Food & Beverage and Engineering Departments, Restaurants, and Hotels for over 22 years for companies such as Radisson, Marriott and White Lodging before joining the Riverhouse Properties team in 2005 as an owner and managing partner. Jim's extensive experience in management and sales as well as facility maintenance makes him uniquely qualified to lead the effort in new ventures. When the landlord of the failed restaurant/banquet hall, Joe Blacks in downtown Hartford, needed a top-notch caterer to take over and avoid a P.R. nightmare, Jim assembled a team from our vast resources at Riverhouse Catering and took over operations. Within a few short months, Riverhouse Properties had signed a long-term lease and The Society Room of Hartford was born. A similar scenario unfolded in the spring of 2010 when GE Capital called to ask for assistance with the Avon Old farms Inn. GE needed a top-notch operator to come in and immediately take over all scheduled events. Riverhouse Properties jumped right in and within a year, facilitated the completion of over $1M in renovations and signed a long term lease unveiling Belle Terrace at Avon Old Farms.
With hand-picked General Managers running the day-to-day operations of the Riverhouse Properties facilities, Jim oversees their continued growth and success, while looking for the next big opportunity for our renowned off-site venture Riverhouse Catering and its parent company Riverhouse Properties.
